Service Description

Sundays 10am - 12noon Class Dates: Sept 19, 26, Oct 3, 17, 24 & 31 Paint & Play workshops are designed to offer students from beginner to intermediate levels the freedom to play, loosen up and explore a variety of painting techniques using acrylics, without the worry of creating a 'masterpiece.' Workshops are taught by Gallery Owner & Artist Kerry Walford. "Using my own tried and true techniques we will explore the beautiful and intuitive process of painting the landscape together. I will share a series of demonstrations using different techniques and providing my tips & tricks along with ample time for students to play & practice. Workshops will be themed, for example, Canada's East Coast, Colourful Skies, Waterfalls, etc... allowing us to delve deep and build up skills for a particular type of landscape. Each workshop will cover the fundamentals (great for beginners), and will include fresh subject matter (great for those who wish to take multiple workshops)." ~ Kerry Walford Using a limited palette of colours students will gain an appreciation and very good understanding of colour mixing. Each workshop will explore techniques for creating an underpainting, colour blocking, layering, adding shadows, highlights and final details. We will paint & play on paper, wood panels and canvas. All art materials and supplies are provided with the workshop fee. Workshop Fee: $300+hst ~ Includes all art supplies needed (a value of $60) Each student will be provided with their own take-home acrylic paint kit with all the goodies needed in our workshop including; acrylic paints, brushes, palettes, paper, wood panels, canvas, hardboard & painters tape to allow for plenty of practice.
